Evotel shows Welkom support.

Evotel Donates to House of HOpe Charity organisation

April 8, 2022

The company sponsors a Welkom High School’s sports day and House of Hope.

The Fibre Network Provider (FNO), Evotel, is the exclusive sponsor of Goudveld High School’s sports day which will be linked to the Jawitz Properties Flea Market and ANCO Ultra Marathon through one of the largest outside broadcasts put on in Welkom. This will take place on Saturday 12 March 2022.

“Our sponsorship of Goudveld High School’s sports day is simply one of the ways Evotel is showing its support for the upliftment and general wellbeing of struggling provincial towns, hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown,” says Bradley Bekker, Head of Brand at Evotel.

Welkom will be a hive of activity on that Saturday, with the three major events taking place at the same time. The Goudveld High School’s sports day will host 16 provincial schools that will compete against each other in Rugby, Hockey and Netball on the day. Evotel will be present at all three events to meet and converse with residents, bringing Evotel merchandise hampers for people to win.

Free fibre for Goudveld high

Goudveld High School is one of the institutions receiving free fibre as part of Evotel’s Schools Programme, which offers all schools that fall under its network coverage area free access to fibre. Evotel started the programme to assist schools to provide learners with a high standard of education through having fast internet access.

In the spirit of helping, Evotel will also be handing over a cheque to the value of R10 000 to the House of Hope children’s charity at the Goudveld School sports day. The company is also providing the House of Hope with free fibre access to assist them with their communication needs. Through these donations, says Bekker, they hope that they can assist the House of Hope in looking after the vulnerable children in their care and give them a better life.

“We are extremely grateful for Evotel’s donation. It will help us so much, especially at the baby house to buy nappies and formula. These things are expensive and we need a lot for the 18 babies we look after. The free fibre access Evotel is providing us with is also great and will save us money with our communication needs. Everything donation relieves our financial pressure and we thank Evotel from the bottom of our hearts for their assistance,” says Sia Raseeke from House of Hope.

Because of Evotel’s generous sponsorship of the Goudveld School sports day, Gold FM will be able to do live outside broadcasts from the three major events taking place in Welkom on the 12th of March. “This will be Gold FM’s biggest outside broadcast ever, utilising all our mobile units to cover these three events, and all of this is only possible because of Evotel. The company not only brought welcomed fibre but is also putting money back into the community. It is fantastic!,” says Brian Emmenis, Gold FM Station Manager.

Welkom support initiative

Concludes Bekker: “Evotel is a company that cares! We always endeavour to do good in the communities that we operate in. Our aim is to better the lives of these small-town residents by providing fibre and truly investing ourselves in these communities to help build the local economy.”
